Aruna Finn

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far. I have been busy catching up on a few movies I wanted to see. But as you can read now, it’s time for another interview! This time our guest is from Moscow, Russia and she is quite a treat. What do you get when you combine a writer/linguist/model/travel guide/and dancer together? I’ll tell you what you get! You get Aruna Finn!

Aruna Finn

Luny: Can you tell everyone your modeling name and where you are from?

Aruna Finn: I am from Moscow, Russia. My modeling names are Aruna Finn or Nera Soltera. I use both variants.

Luny: What made you ever want to start modeling?
Aruna Finn: Actually, I never considered myself a professional model. Yet, I started creating my gothic images at the age of 13-14. Surprisingly enough, my first photographer was my mother. Indeed, she was the very person who supported and encouraged me to reveal my artistic skills to the world. Then, I went into cooperation with professional photographers and suddenly I realized that modeling proved to be far more gripping than just taking pretty photos. I was captured with this process once and for all!

Luny: What is your favorite thing about modeling?
Aruna Finn: My favorite thing is giving free reign to my emotions and finding solutions to impersonate fairytale creatures. Another kind of modeling I truly in love with is jewelry modeling and I am really proud of my work with very talented masters of handcraft!

Luny: I see you have other talents such as writing. What do you write about?
Aruna Finn: I have graduated from Moscow Institute of foreign languages and I have a diploma of a linguist in English and Spanish. Thus, my life is closely interconnected with Literature, Poetry and Psychology. The main themes of my poems and novels are Love, Death and Human Sins. I write both original novels and fanfics.

Luny: I noticed you also love to dance, correct? What styles do you love and how did you learn?

Aruna Finn: Yes, dancing is vital for me. Usually, I prefer a sophisticated mix of tribal fusion dances and strip plastics. Actually, I have only attended a number of master classes and training sessions. In most cases, I just improvise and try to enhance my body language.

Luny: What is it you want most out of life right now?

Aruna Finn: That is a tricky question. On the one hand, my cherished dream to have a loving and caring family with the man I deeply in love with has already come true. On the other hand, I am still craving for fulfilling my life-long ambitions in creative and artistic spheres. As well as traveling around the world. Another goal I am for is studying the German language and moving up the career ladder.

Luny: What kind of gamer are you? Fps? Mmorpgs? Give us a few of your favorite games.

Aruna Finn: I am an avid gamer since the age of 8. No doubt, I adore all kinds of fantasy, historic and action games. For example, such series as the Elder Scrolls, Spyro the Dragon, Crash Bandicoot, Assassin’s Creed, Final Fantasy ect.

Luny: What new ideas and content do you see yourself producing for the future as far as doing what you love?

Aruna Finn: I am inclined to think that I will go on with gothic images, as I belong to this subculture and do everything in my power to make it flourish. Yet, in the nearest future, I am not going to exclude other ideas, such as steampunk, fantasy or glamorous images.

Luny: What do you think is the best piece of advice you’ve even received was?
Aruna Finn: It is from my mother: never give up and never put aside the goals.

Luny: Finally, do you have anyone you’d like to say thank you to or a website you’d like to mention?

Aruna Finn: Of course, I would like to express my immense gratitude to you, Luny, for the opportunity to take part in this interview.

What is more, my deepest thanks go to all my nearest and dearest for their love, support and kind words. Especially, to my husband, a bass guitarist from Russian progressive alternative metal band called Dysthymia.

Thank you for cooperation!

Sincerely yours,
Aruna Finn
